This heartwarming, beautifully illustrated children’s book was written by Tony Roberts from the heart of the Welsh legendary dragon country and evokes all of the passion of this beautiful magical land through the weaving of an enchanting story of a boy who learns to speak the magic language of dragons.

Waterstones

Another success for Redstart Publishing ltd., as not only have we got 'Alfie and the Dragon' onto the shelves in Waterstones in Llandudno, but we were also invited to do a reading! On a busy Saturday afternoon, the children's book department was full of children captivated in the adventures of Alfie and Meredydd the dragon. It proved to be a very exciting event, with the manager stating it to be her most popular reading event to date! We are looking forward to see what the future holds, and you never know we may soon be in a Waterstones near you!

North Wales Wildlife Trust

A very successful day at Plas Mechell manor house, hosted by the North Wales Wildlife Trust, marked the end to a brilliant Summer of events! The setting was breathtaking and it made for a very relaxed and enjoyable reading for Tony and the team. We also got the excellent news that the Trust have decided to sell the book within their franchise. They're an incredible organisation for us to be involved with and will look forward to being involved with their events in the future.

Faery Festival

As far as readings go, the 'Legendary Faery Festival' was one of the most beautiful that we have done to date! It caught the imagination of everyone involved, with fairies, ogres and toadstools dotted around the Pavilion, and the magic certainly rubbed off on our stall. We all had a brilliant day - thank you so much for the invitation and we will definitely be back again next year!

Foyles

Brilliant success across the border, as we have become a stockist in 'Foyles' in Birmingham New Street Station! With the renovation of the station having finally been completed last year, a flagship store for 'Foyles' was opened, and along with it an excellent children's book department. It is an incredible opportunity for us, and we look forward to a prosperous relationship for everybody involved!

RSPB

We're proud to say that we are now a stockist within the RSPB shops around North Wales. A brilliant chance for us to be able to support a great cause whilst working with another local enterprise. Watch out for future events as we hope to continue to collaborate with RSPB on some of their brilliant fundraising!

Llaingoch Primary School Reading

Where better to do a book reading than the official 'Dragon school', Llaingoch Primary School, with its idyllic setting right under Holyhead Mountain. Children from every year were given the chance to have the book read to them by the Author, Tony Roberts. With the interactive details throughout the book, it kept the children entranced from beginning to end. Thanks to the forward thinking of the teachers at Llaingoch, the children had come prepared with their 'Alfie & Dragon' book and were able to have it signed by Tony! It was a lot of fun for everybody involved and we'll be sure to visit again very soon.

Schools Reading

On the 26th January, Tony and the Alfie and the Dragon team will be doing a book reading and signing event at Kinmel Bay Library for 120 primary school children in groups of 30 plus any parents who attend. This will be an exciting day all round. The children will learn what a real Welsh Dragon likes to eat and the legendary secret of the welsh language origins in Dragon Speak! Not to mention clouds shaped like banana pancakes and glorious dragon flights across the night sky over Holy Island. Is it a star? Is it a comet? Is it a meteorite? No! It's Alfie's Dragon.

Ian Owen the resident illustrator from Redstart Publishing will also be giving demonstrations to interested children (and adults) in the finer parts of the creative process using technology as well as traditional artist skills.

Costa Coffee Reading

In July 2015 the books author Tony Roberts the author read the first print of Alfie and the Dragon to an excited audience of Children, parents and grandparents at the Costa Coffee shop on Bangor High Street. This was the first ever book reading at Costa coffee in Bangor and proved a great success with all who attended.

Alfie's adventures were truly on the wing in the form of Holyheads own magnificent 'dragon under the mountain' and a small blond boy who learns to speak some words of the ancient dragon language ... Welsh. The children were entranced as they heard about the golden shimmering dragon landing in Alfie's Uncles back garden with a thump that made the earth shudder and laughed at the Dragons penchant for unctuous banana pancakes.

The evening ended with a book signing and photographs with the author for all who attended.
